Welcome to the home of BlurredVisionRacing.

We've finally aquired some video editing software to manage all of the video the we have taken on track with our recording setup. You'll notice a new 'Videos' link on the left side-bar. We utilize a SanDisk V-mate solid-state recorder with a Sony bullet camera. Thanks very much to Phil at Fast Toys in Winnipeg for setting us up!

Hope you enjoy the ride as much as we do.

Sorry for the delay in posting any news on our racing, folks! 2008 has been a busy year already.

Our latest race was July 5th in Gimli, beautiful weather and race cars, life is good. Gary spent saturday chasing dying rear tires, which were giving no grip at all. Sunday saw him switch to the spare set, which transformed the car. Gord also switched, but to his stickier 'qualifying' tires, as the temp was lower. Unfortunately, they weren't as sticky as he hoped, and led to a few spins, allowing Gary to take home 2 wins on Sunday.

Gord also re-set the lap record, now down to 1:02:604.

Gary started work to install the 'old' motor back into his Reynard shortly after we arrived home. It was back up and running in time for the June 20th race in Gimli, Manitoba. The old engine worked just fine, and allowed for some fantastic racing between Gord and Gary. A highlight of the weekend being 3 continuous laps wheel-to-wheel with never more than 1/2 a car lead for either.

Over the spring, Gimli was changed slightly, as the drag strip installed additional barriers. The new corner is quite interesting, tight, slow, and slippery. As the year progresses, it should rubber-in and gain grip. With the new configuration, Gord has now set the outright track record at 1:03:466. Congratulations Gord!

Our first race was May 31 at RaceCity in Calgary. The year was looking great, with a good sized (14) grid of open-wheel cars. Gary's new engine seemed to be working well until an oil line came loose and ran the engine out of oil. It apparently wasn't caught quite quick enough, as Sunday morning practice saw the engine blow up on the front straight.

Gord's weekend was quite uneventful in comparison. His car ran flawlessly all weekend, and other than a small stop in 'The Swamp' all of his races went well. He managed to take home second place in the WCMA points race on Sunday.

2008 is almost here! BlurredVisionRacing is excited about the new season. The cars are unchanged from last season, other than Gord's bright new paint on his '91 VanDiemen. He figures it should be worth at least a second per lap.

Gary has a new engine in his car, hoping it will give him a boost to overtake Gord.

The 2008 schedule has been posted, BVR is planning on 5 races this year, 2 in Calgary, and 3 in Gimli. Check the transport page if you're in need of a way to get your car to the races.

The 2007 season is complete. BlurredVisionRacing attended the WCMA 2007 AGM and awards banquet in Edmonton on Oct 20. Gord took home 1st place in Manitoba Division Formula Libre from Gary only by way of number of wins, as we each had 51 points after the last race! Gord and Gary finished 4th and 5th respectively in the WCMA Formula Libre class. Congratulations to Jared Whissle, who won the class.

We're already preparing for the 2008 season, hoping to come back quicker and more reliable next year.
